Beautiful perspectives about NOT writing a long blog

Although I’ve only written two of them so far, I’ve come to really enjoy thinking through my “beautiful perspectives”. The first one about looking at Independence Day as a celebration of beginning of a new chapter in the life of a community, rather than focusing on the split from the old one, was very pertinent as Canbacing is all about new beginnings. The second beautiful perspectives, this time about happiness, was slightly harder as I was dealing with my own “happiness” issues at the time. The result was worth it in the end, though as I realised that I could be happy even when the universe was making life very stressful. So, what it’s my profound beautiful perspective going to be about today?

Beautiful perspective about not keeping your “word”

Beautiful perspectivesWell, here the ironic element …. Today I’m writing about NOT writing! The Canbace/childless community is very important to me and providing support for the community is one of the key motivators for getting out of bed in the morning. However, I have other priorities too and they have to be attended to. We have a car without a 5th gear and mending it is a job that Andrew can’t do on his own. We have concrete “boots” to fit to our temporary gates so that the wind doesn’t blow them over and give Duval an easy path out of the garden. We have grass that is getting so tall that a herd of elephants could wander through it without fear of detection. Finally, we have a black hole of a barn that is swallowing Andrew’s tools and causing marital disharmony as I am asked “Where have you put …?”

So instead of pondering over my beautiful perspective until I can write something profound and inspirational I’m going to take a punt and leave you with this thought ….

Beautiful perspective about putting yourself first

When Canbacing you are entitled to put yourself first, even though that may mean letting down people that you care for. If you don’t care for yourself and find balance in your life, then you won’t be able to support and care for the people that you love.

Now, for the sake of marital bliss, I’m off to mow the grass so we can watch the elephants from our kitchen window!

In CANBACE friendship!

If anything I have written resonates I’d love to hear from you in the comments. I appreciate that this can be a difficult subject to speak openly about so if you don’t want me to publish your comment on the website please let me know and I will keep your words private.

I love this beautiful perspective, Nicci. I’m resting this week. After doing so much work on my dry river rock bed and the party, I ended up with severe carpal tunnel syndrome. Even typing hurts. So beautiful and short “thinking of you notes” pecked out with one finger must suffice.

Thanks Sue. I have been thinking of you and all your work preparing for the party. Hope it went off with a bang: or should that be a pop and then a fizzzzzzz! Hope the carpal tunnel syndrome improves quickly. I have (different) problems with my fingers so sympathise and empathise. I find ice helps.
