We have always tried to eat a relatively healthy diet with lots of fresh fruit and veg, avoiding the need for vitamins. Five a day is a minimum most of the time. We don’t eat much in the way of highly processed foods. However sweets and cakes are our downfall. Which is why we have put on weight even though the foundation is good. If you’ve been to a French patisserie then you’ll understand why!

However, we realised we were obviously missing something in our diet.

Now being a man, of a certain generation, taking anything that isn’t normal food is an anathema. Taking vitamins or supplements is not a usual course of events unless you are in an environment that requires them. What do I mean by that? Well the importance of increasing your salt intake when in the desert.

So why am I writing a blog about vitamins?
