The emotional pain that we all experience at one time or another can be overwhelming. In the midst of it it is hard to know where to start in terms of emotional healing.
However, there comes a time when we finally decide enough is enough. The pain of remaining where we are, is worse than the pain of moving forwards towards emotional healing. Unfortunately, because many of us have been focused on starting a family for so long, taking those first tentative steps towards healing can be daunting, even if we really want to take them.
It is as though our infertility/childless situation has become a bizarre security blanket because we have had it for so long. It has become so familiar to us, and so all consuming, that is it an integral part of us. Although it is the cause of our pain it has also become the crutch that helps us cope with that pain. Letting go of that security blanket will be tough, no matter how much we want to do it, no matter how much we know we HAVE to do it.
Emotional Healing Video
About 14 months ago I created the following video. In it I share information about the nature of the emotional healing process, the importance of having a purpose in life and a great technique that will help you along the way. When I compare this video to the ones that I produce now it is interesting to see how much I have changed. Not only in my appearance, in my content and delivery style as well. It shows how much I have progressed. If doing so if it helps you to find even the smallest grain of hope that you can heal too then it’s a job well done.
Support groups help with emotional healing
At the end of the video I spoke for a minute or two about the benefits of belonging to a support group that is exclusively for people who are childless-not-by-choice. This is particularly important as you become more proactive in your emotional healing. Emotions that you may have suppressed for years can bubble up to the surface. You’ll probably want to talk to people who “get it” about these feelings.
This element of support is so important that Andrew and I are about to launch the Canbace Life on-line community. It will be run away from Facebook because there are people who need support yet don’t use Facebook. I want Canbace Life to be accessible to them. It also makes sense for all our work to be in one place. Easier for you and easier for us too. The official launch of the Canbace Life on-line community is 1st November 2018. When there is a registration page I will update this blog with a link.
These are the main areas of support that have been instrumental in helping me to move forward. The groups are based on Facebook unless otherwise stated.

Gateway Women (NOT based on Facebook)
When you ask to join some of these groups you may be asked to answer questions about your situation. This is to help the groups Admins ensure that all members are CNBC because sometimes people struggling with secondary infertility ask to join the groups.
Be kind to yourself …
In CANBACE friendship!
If anything I have written resonates I’d love to hear from you in the comments. I appreciate that this can be a difficult subject to speak openly about. If you don’t want me to publish your comment on the website please let me know. I will keep your words private.
