My apologies for the delay in publishing this blog about “Creating YOUR New Beautiful And Courageous Canbace Life”. There were a few extra tasks that needed to happen behind the scenes to ensure that everything mentioned in the blog was working properly. This took slightly longer than anticipated. Thank you for your patience …
I’ve been blogging about living a Canbace Life now for 12 weeks and that is quite significant. If you are trying to break a habit, 12 weeks is often mentioned as the tipping point: from now on it will be easier. Learning a new skill? Again, 12 weeks is important in terms of hard-wiring the new information into your memory.
I don’t think it’s as simple as that. People are different. They have different experiences. They have different ways of looking at the world and processing information. Bearing all this, and more, in mind, it stands to reason that there isn’t a set time scale for learning new habits or ditching old ones. What I can say for certain though is that finding healing and acceptance in your life will take time. Canbace is NOT a quick fix or that magic wand that I have been searching for. Living a #CanbaceLife is a marathon and not a sprint. It is a lifestyle choice.
You can read Signe Dean’s article “Here’s How Long It Really Takes to Break a Habit, According to Science” here.
Think of it this way …
Over the past two decades I have gradually gained weight. There have been times when I have dropped a few pounds here and there: however, the general trend has been in an upwards direction. I am now about 4 stone (25kg) overweight. At two decades my bad habit of consuming more calories than I am burning has existed for more than 1000 weeks. I would be completely unrealistic of me to expect to completely break a habit of 1000 weeks after only 12 weeks of embracing a healthier habit.
Not only is it an unrealistic expectation, it is setting myself up to fail. “I’ve not lost 4 stone in 12 weeks, so I have failed again and might as well go back to by old habit”. Not the best of mindsets for a healthier lifestyle that I need to lead for the rest of my life.
The same is true for Canbace. I’ve been overwhelmed by the grief caused by being childless not by choice for 10 years now. That’s 520 weeks, less a few for the times when I was feeling a little happier and positive about life. To expect a complete change around in 12 weeks is again is setting myself up for a fall.
The solution?
Well the solution to the weight loss is to realise that slow loss is better than sudden loss. Linked to that is the fact that there will be plateaux in my weight loss, which is OK. It’s important think of new forms of exercise so that my body doesn’t get complacent or bored doing the same old “same old”. Equally important is the need to experiment with different ingredients and different ways of preparing food so that I don’t get bored of what I am eating.
I may take a mouthful of grilled salmon on a bed of fresh spinach served with a little brown rice and a side salad and wonder aloud if “woman can live on grilled salmon …… side salad alone?” However, I know that, no matter how wonderful it tastes on the first meal, and second or third meals, I wouldn’t be feeling the same way after meal #1095 (365 days x 3 meals per day).
Sustaining a Canbace Life is the same …
Remembering that wobbles are to be expected is important: I must not feel guilty or worried about them when they happen. I need to keep a look out for new ideas on how to move forward. Being open to new suggestions about healing techniques will help with this. It’s important to use the techniques that make sense and give me benefits. However, I should also keep at open about things that don’t make sense just yet: they may be beneficial in the future.
This is how I will be creating MY new, beautiful and courageous existence over the coming weeks, months and years. Yet what has this to do with YOU creating YOUR new, beautiful and courageous existence?
Well as you know I am all about proactive healing. I’m a qualified Life Coach and have over 15 years’ experience as an IT Trainer and course developer. It was inevitable that I would eventually create a course to help other people kick start their Canbace Life.
I’ve created two short videos to explain more:
As there are two courses please carefully select the right course for your situation. There is no information about fertility and TTC in either course. However, the language that I use to describe situations and the examples given may be different. I would hate people who are still TTC to be triggered when I mention not being able to have biological children. Equally I wouldn’t want people who have reached that stage to be trigger if I mention TTC.
The different Canbace Life courses are:
The “Kick Start Your Canbace Life (CNBC)” course is for people who have reached the point of knowing that they will not have biological children.
“Kick Start You Canbace Life (CNBC)” course
The “Kick Start Your Canbace Life (TTC)” course is for people who are still trying to conceive.
“Kick Start Your Canbace Life (TTC)” course
A quick reminder that the pre-launch special offer price is available until 08:00 BST (London) on 8th January 2018.
I hope you find the course useful are you start to Create A New, Beautiful And Courageous Existence. You deserve it!
If you missed my very first blog about “Creating A New, Beautiful And Courage Existence” which is where is all started you can read it here.
Be kind to yourself …
In CANBACE friendship!
