What a difference 18 months and Canbace makes

At the moment I am in the middle of a moratorium of creating new content for the Canbace Diaries. I’ve been struggling with exhaustion and Andrew put his foot down last week. No new content until 1st November. So instead I have been republishing blogs from the blog I started a few years ago.

Last Tuesday I shared a blog written over a little over a year ago. It included a video that I recorded at the time. I found it really interesting to see how much I have changed over the last year. I look different and sound different. My delivery style has changed and so has my ability to talk about very personal, emotional elements of my life.

These videos were all recorded before I became comfortable recording videos. I knew that I could share my experience in from of a camera, yet I still had to work out how to. Although I was still finding my way I decided that I needed to step out of my comfort zone. So, I recorded several videos to coincide with National Infertility Awareness Week in April 2017. Little did I realised that video was going to become such an important part of my life and the work that I do.

Who is Nicci Fletcher (before Canbace)

This is a short introduction I recorded for a Facebook support group …

My work within the infertility community

I’m not 100% sure why I recorded this video. It might have been for a video challenge I was taking part in or it may not. Who knows!

The Voice of Infertility

The Voice of Infertility was the name of my first blog.

Our Story

This was another video that I created during NIAW 2017 and is the first time I talk about our personal experience.

Infertility is a form of bereavement

My first foray into proactive healing and raising awareness.

What not to say to an infertile person

Another attempt at raising awareness in the “wider world”.

Why we need to raise awareness

Exploring my ideas about why we need to raise awareness and not expect people to understand as if by magic.

You will be pleased to know that falling back on previous created content is helping me to recharge my batteries. A few more days of this and I will be raring to go when the first #CanbaceChallenge starts on the 1st November. Not heard of the #CanbaceChallenge? If you missed the webinar that I co-hosted with Brandi Lytle, of Not So Mommy … you can watch the recording our webinar here.

Be kind to yourself …

In CANBACE friendship!

If anything I have written resonates I’d love to hear from you in the comments. I appreciate that this can be a difficult subject to speak openly about. If you don’t want me to publish your comment on the website, please let me know. I will keep your words private.
