April Fools’ Daye jokes should be benign and harmless. This means that fake pregnancy announcements are NOT suitable April Fools’ Joke.
I can’t believe that I actually need to write about this.
Unfortunately, I do.
Whilst they have lessened over the last few years, the message still hasn’t got through to some people.
I have actually been on the receiving end of one of these fake pregnancy announcements.
It happened on Facebook. Although I was feeling very triggered by ANY and ALL pregnancy announcements, I decided to comment on this one.
After all this wasn’t someone I only knew on Facebook. This was someone that I had met in person a few times and then we connected on Facebook as a way to keep in touch.
The announcement was complete with 12-week scan.
Many friends, some of them mutual ones, had already expressed their happiness for the woman concerned.
I added my congratulations.
Big mistake because I then got all the Facebook notification that someone else has commented too.
